Subject: Call for Submissions for EIU Best Practices 2014
Dear Ms. Lucy Moala-Mafi,
On behalf of the Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU) I would like to extend my warmest gratitude for your continuous cooperation with us.
I am pleased to inform you about this year’s “EIU Best Practices 2014” programme. The EIU Best Practice programme seeks to encourage educators and practitioners to share their locally implemented initiatives on EIU with a broad audience. Since its initiation in 2006, the programme received many favorable and enthusiastic responses from UNESCO Member States with the support of the National Commissions. Till this day, we have been able to publish 30 monographs of the selected Best Practices and disseminated them throughout the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
For this year we once again would like to ask for your kind cooperation in recommending qualified applicants in the field of EIU. Suitable applicants must be educational practitioners in the Asia-Pacific region, who have by now implemented innovative EIU programmes for at least one year and are able to report on their own initiative. Recommended cases will enter the open competition. Therefore, National Commissions for UNESCO are encouraged to recommend as many cases as they wish. Please kindly submit the applications to APCEIU no later than 30 April 2014.
A screening committee will select the best cases, and announce the result by 22 May 2014. Together with the Best Practice Award APCEIU will grant USD 1,000 to each winner for further support on the programme. For more information, please kindly refer to the enclosed Guidelines on EIU Best Practices or see our website at www.unescoapceiu.org. Any queries or requests regarding the programme may be addressed to the Education and Training Team of APCEIU via e-mail at email@example.com.
Thank you for your kind support and cooperation.
